"We're having a great time. It's all smiles out here. People who perhaps who have never had the opportunity to get out on the water are experiencing boating today, and that's kind of what we were trying to do, ya know? Make this an accessible program and get the community that maybe hasn't had a chance to do this; get them out on the water and having a good time. We're all smiles today, having a great time," said Dan Hodges, education supervisor at Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.
The adaptive kayaks and equipment came thanks to a grant to the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District from the state.
