Jon Husted urging people to vote

We are nineteen days away from the November General Election and Ohio's secretary of state wants to make sure you do your civic duty and vote.

Jon Husted says during the early voting process that started on October 11th, voter turnout has been low and he wants Ohioans to take advantage of absentee ballots and going to the board of elections to cast early ballots, just in case you can't make it to the polls on Election Day. Your vote could make the difference.

"In Ohio in the last four years, we have had 112 elections that have been decided on by one vote or tied. It’s these low voter turnout elections that we have often times in odd election years, that create the circumstance for many of this close elections. We have had mayors become mayor by winning by a single vote. So these are important close elections and your vote could make the difference," commented Jon Husted, Secretary of State.

Husted says that since he has taken office, the secretary of state's office has made Ohio a place where it is easy to vote and it’s hard to cheat. Voters can vote early until the Monday before election.
