A former Miss Kentucky USA returned to court to get sentenced for attempting to bring drugs into a Lima prison.
Kia Hampton was sentenced to three years probation on a third degree felony charge of Illegal Conveyance of Drugs on to a Specified Government Facility. The charge stemmed from Hampton attempting to smuggle a balloon of marijuana to inmate Jeremy Kelly at Allen-Oakwood Correctional Facility in May of 2017.
The prosecutor asked for jail time, because Hampton didn't show remorse for the crime. The pre-sentence investigation alluded that a prison sentence was not appropriate, as Hampton has had no prior charges.
