After attempts to sell their building failed, the Lima Council Knights of Columbus will be without a center hub.
The council has announced, with not being able to keep up with expenses, they will allow their building to go into foreclosure and head to a sheriff's auction. Bill Bassitt, president of the group that owns the building said the K of C is not going away, it's just the building they will lose. They will still meet at LCC for scheduled meetings. The K of C will have one last nostalgic party, Bassitt said, on Aug. 3. It will be open to members and the public before the doors shut permanently afterwards.
"This has been here for 17 years," said Bassit, president of KayCee Inc.. "A lot of people have become very a custom to using this as their social center of activities. And so to have it go away is indeed a sad, a sad day."
