About 40 sophomores, juniors, and seniors were awarded an academic letter, which is earned after a student maintains a 3.6 cumulative GPA through the third quarter of the school year. Several students were also recognized for their participation in LCC's Honors Career Mentorship Program.

With so many changes and difficulties through the last two years of the pandemic, these students say that getting the spotlight for their efforts is very rewarding.

"We definitely had to be resilient through the whole thing, but with us using our hard work and dedication, we’ve been able to get through it," said Carlie Van Meter, a senior at LCC. "We've had support from our teachers and our friends, so that's made it easier on all of us - we’ve put in a lot of hard work to be here and it’s really great to be recognized."

The guest speaker for the event was 2015 grad Dalton Brenner, who spoke about how his education at LCC helped him succeed in his time after high school.
