Most of us know what it means to lose someone close. For some people, the grieving process can be more overwhelming than others. Jack McGuire takes a look at a program hoping to help people in the community cope with the loss of a loved one.
Otterbien Lifestyle Community in Cridersville, in conjunction with Shawnee Alliance Church, now offers a thirteen-week GriefShare program to the community. GriefShare is a seminar and support group compiled by professionals in the field of grief to assist people trying to cope with the loss of a loved one. Ralph Miller works as a leader for the sessions, but has dealt with grief himself. He claims getting back to living a normal life is one of the most important steps in healing.
Those who join the group receive a workbook at no cost to them. The workbook coincides with a DVD series that helps guide people through the healing process. Following the DVD, the group discusses about what the video reviewed.
