LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima's First Ward Councilman will enter his name in the running for city council president.
Todd Gordon entered his petition to the Allen County Board of Elections which will now add his name to be on the upcoming ballot next year. The position opened after current Lima City Council President John Nixon announced that he would not be running for the seat again. Gordon says that if elected he hopes to continue Lima's strong relationship with the county.
"First of all, I’d like to continue with what the mayor is doing with working with county officials." said Gordon. "I have good relationships with the folks in the county and help move everything for what she has been doing and we will go from there."
So far -- only Gordon has applied for the open position.
