LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A local organization is striving to provide area residents of all ages with a music education by expanding their team of music teachers.
The Lima Music Academy, a faith-based non-profit music school founded in 2022, is currently searching for people who can teach a variety of musical instruments like the guitar, saxophone, trumpet, drums, piano, and even vocal instruction. With an increasingly growing waiting list, the academy says fulfilling these music teaching roles will give those interested in musical performance an opportunity to embrace the world of music.
"Music is such an important, impacting thing in all of our lives, and everyone has some type of music in their life whether they listen to whatever genre from country to symphony. We want to be able to teach our students life application when it comes to music so that they can apply it to their lives and become very productive and grow into very productive adults and be positive, encouraging people in the community," says David Jackson, President & Co-Founder, Lima Music Academy.
In addition to music teachers, the Lima Music Academy is also seeking board members as well as committee members for an upcoming fundraising project.
