An Allen County jury will decide the fate of a Lima man who was charged for a 2020 shooting at a west Lima bar.

50-year-old Oliver Jackson Jr. is facing three counts of felonious assault and having weapons under disability charge. Lima police officers who responded to the February 2020 shooting at Harry's Hideaway took the stand on the first day of the trial. They showed the video of, Stephen Snyder also known as Shawn, in the parking lot outside the bar walking to a vehicle when he was shot in the leg by someone in the car. Jackson says he was not the shooter, and the weapon has not been recovered. But the officers retold what a witness said to them that night.

“He said that he and Mr. Jackson exchanged words, another male also came outside, his name was Shawn, I don’t know his last name at this time,” recalls Lima Police Department Patrolman Tyler Dunlap. “They also exchanged words, Shawn and Mr. Jackson, at this time he advised that Mr. Jackson fired three rounds at Shawn towards Harry’s Hideaway. “
The trial will resume on Tuesday.
