A Lima man has waived his right to an attorney, and will now represent himself in Court.
Oliver Jackson Jr. informed the judge of his decision to dismiss his current attorney and in turn represent himself moving forward in his case. The judge granted the request after asking the defendant a series of questions on what representing oneself could entail.
An attorney will be appointed as "shadow council" to help Jackson, and will in turn be ready to represent him if he changes his mind.
Jackson is facing three counts of felonious assault and a weapons under disabilities charge. These charges stem from an incident in February of 2020, where Jackson is accused of shooting Steven Snyder in the parking lot of Harry's Hideaway.
