Lima project could be halted for now due to lawsuit

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Development on a big project in the Central District of Lima could be halted due to a lawsuit over ownership.

Jerome O'Neal filed a lawsuit against Tracie Sanchez over ownership of the Central District Project and filed an injunction order in Allen County Common Pleas Court. O'Neal says he currently has sixteen percent ownership of the project, but says he was promised 33% ownership by Sanchez verbally and through email. However, Sanchez's attorney stated that no specifics on the 33% ownership were never discussed. O'Neal states that he deserves majority ownership and not minority ownership of the central district and fears that money would be used without his knowledge during the development phase of the project. And wants an injunction to halt money being spent.

"It is definitely one of the more important reasons. It's my project, it's my development, I got all the tenants currently in the project, I got all the tenants in the building that is currently vacant, and I am the largest majority owner in terms of the properties that I purchased," stated Jerome O' Neal, plaintiff.

"Is this project like, your baby?"

"Yes," responded O'Neal.

Judge Jeffrey Reed will now look over both arguments presented and make a ruling in the near future on the preliminary injunction.
