LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — For about 25 years, the Lima Rotary Club has helped area residents stay informed about their health through its annual Blood Clinic fundraiser.

On Saturday, the club partnered with Lima Memorial Health System Lab Services to offer low-cost health screenings to the community. Residents had access to a variety of tests, including screenings for prostate cancer and diabetes, as well as a comprehensive general health screenings. Organizers said the event not only serves as the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, but also provides valuable health information that participants can share with their primary care physicians.

“You know, it's so important to, they say, know your numbers, and this is where the numbers come from. So you know, it's an inexpensive way to, at least once a year, know your numbers. You'll have that information you can share with your physician and gives you that peace of mind that everything's okay. So, it's an opportunity that we've been doing now for 25 years for people to get blood work done and save some money at the same time,” said Russ Decker, president of the Lima Rotary Club.
