LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Symphony Orchestra took the stage Saturday night, transporting the audience to Spain with Carmen and Bolero, featuring clarinet soloist Greg Hamilton.
Hamilton, the principal clarinetist of the Lima Symphony Orchestra, was in the spotlight as the ensemble showcased one of its own musicians. With the flair and color of these pieces, some audience members are sure to leave with a melody they won’t forget.

"We're taking this great trip to Spain, and it's going to be music that people really know very well, even if they don't think that they do. Bolero is just one of those songs that everyone is going to know the minute it starts and then the Carmen Suites have been used in movies and commercials in so many other ways, and so it's another time that people are going to just be like, 'Wait, I've heard this. I've heard this.' It's wonderful when people know the music, because it just creates that feeling of attachment, said Elizabeth Brown-Ellis, executive director of the Lima Symphony Orchestra.
The orchestra’s next concert, Gershwin and the American Sound, is set for Saturday, April 5, at the Civic Center.
