March 27, 2024 Press Release from the Lima Symphony Orchestra: Lima, OH (March 27, 2024) – The Lima Symphony Orchestra returns to The Lima Public Library (650 W Market St, Lima, OH 45801) on Saturday, April 6 at 10:30 AM for another Mornings with the Maestro program. Mornings with the Maestro are vibrant educational programs dreamed up by Maestro Andrew Crust. With an emphasis on interactive games and listening activities, Mornings with the Maestro is perfect for all ages.

This month, Maestro Crust has planned a program introducing the brass family of instruments. Members of the Lima Symphony will perform as a brass quintet (Jake Ciulla, trumpet, Paul Hoverman, trumpet, Rachel Constantino, horn, Brian Johnston, trombone, and James Green, tuba). Classical pieces such as Debussy’s The Girl with the Flaxen Hair and Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary will be performed alongside recognizable film music such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Let it Go. The musicians and Andrew Crust will demonstrate how each instrument is distinct, how they are played, what styles of music they play, and even demonstrate their playing technique on tubes and funnels! This event is free and open to the public.
