ELIDA, OH (WLIO) - Love and the scent of flowers are definitely in the air as Valentine's Day is just days away.
The FlowerLoft has been making floral arrangements since Saturday for the big day of love. They estimate they will have put together 700 arrangements with 300 of them being delivered on Wednesday with 6 drivers on the road. A spare cooler is even on-site to handle the extra load of flowers as more than 5,200 roses are expected to be used along with countless other blooms. While the Valentine's Day holiday is intense for local florists, they enjoy it.
"It's just busy. I don't think we even stop to think. you just make, make, make. You eat in between things. The phone is non-stop, the website is non-stop, our door traffic is non-stop. It's fun. I don't think I would want it like this every day but it's a fun little week," said Heather Liening, floral designer at The FlowerLoft.
"You just have to take it one at a time and just help them to get their personal service and people don't mind waiting. They know it's a busy day and that we try and get them in and out. It's definitely an adrenaline rush that we're glad it's only once a year," said Michelle Etzkorn, sales coordinator at The FlowerLoft.
Etzkorn encourages people to use local florists for their floral and special occasions needs as they can provide a more personalized experience than national companies that usually keep a fee for finding you a florist. The FlowerLoft is located at 4611 Elida Rd, Lima, OH 45807.
