LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Locally, Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers were busy during the Christmas travel season.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol 2022 Christmas Holiday Recap just released late Monday Afternoon, state troopers responded to 120 incidents in Allen County and 5 incidents in Putnam County. Following up with the Lima Ohio State Highway Patrol, there were 21 reported crashes from December 23rd through 4 pm December 27th. 15 of those crashes occurred on December 23rd and December 24th with 8 and 7, respectively. The large majority of those crashes were related to the major winter storm that slammed the area with accumulating and blowing snow, strong winds, and extreme cold. There was one OVI arrest in Allen County on December 23rd.
