LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Logan County teen was seriously injured following an early Saturday morning shooting incident on the north side of Lima.
The Lima Police say the 17-year-old girl was brought to Mercy Health Saint Rita’s with a gunshot wound to the neck, then was flown to the OSU hospital for treatment.
According to Lima detectives, officers were called to the 2200 block of Molly Avenue for reports of a shot fired around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. During their investigation, they found that two carloads of juveniles from Logan County were visiting someone in the apartment complex.
And as they were leaving around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, more than one male subject was firing guns at the SUV that the 17-year-old victim was in. The vehicles then drove to Mercy Health.

On 9/13/2025, at about 2:30 a.m., a vehicle was shot at several times, in the 2200 block of Molly Avenue. L.P.D. was alerted to the shots fired through 9-1-1 calls originating from the Brower Commons Apartment Complex.
Shortly thereafter, a mid-size SUV arrived at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, with a 17 year old, Logan County, female passenger suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The female received initial treatment for serious injuries and was ultimately transferred to OSU Hospital in Columbus.
As detectives investigated, they learned that two car loads of Logan County juveniles were visiting someone at the apartment complex. As they left the complex, more than one male subject ran in the direction of the vehicles and fired several shots into the SUV, resulting in the 17-year-old female being shot. The vehicles left the complex eastbound on Brower Road, eventually ending up at SRMC.
Investigators spoke to several occupants from the two vehicles, including the victim, and an initial person of interest. We will continue to obtain and pursue video from the area as the investigation progresses.
