Susan Manchester filed to run for the Ohio House in the 84th District on Monday (2/5/18).
Manchester is running as a Republican in the race to represent parts of Auglaize and Darke counties and all of Mercer County. She says she is a fiscal conservative running on pro-life and pro-Second Amendment platforms. It is her first time running for office but she says her experience working with Congressman Jim Jordan opened her eyes to the disconnect between politicians and the people.
"I worked for Congressman Jim Jordan out in Washington, D.C. for about five years and there I saw how real the disconnect is between politicians and the rest of the country," says Manchester. "People by and large are frustrated with politicians who get into office and completely lose sight of who they are, where they came from, and the people who elected them."
Manchester will be running against Aaron Heilers, who filed last May, and Travis Faben who is expected to file before the deadline.
