LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Mercy Health-St. Rita's Community Impact Team is getting ready for several upcoming events for area residents.
The first will be tomorrow, Wednesday, June 19th, as they observe "Juneteenth." There will be activities that will allow time for reflection, celebration, and education. They will be located just outside the medical center's cafeteria, located at 730 W Market Street, Lima, OH 45805, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the public is invited to attend.
"We want to identify that freedom is something that came at a cost, and we also want to let people know history is always evolving. And with history comes a lot of storytelling and time to enjoy some of the things that we've overcome," said Anisha Pridgen, Mercy Health-St. Rita's Community Impact Team.
The impact team will also be at the Delphos Downtown Farmers Market, located at the corner of 4th and Main in Delphos, on Thursday, June 27th, from 4 to 6 p.m. as part of the Community Health and Wellness Expo.
On Saturday, June 29th, they will be attending Activate Allen County's South Jackson Community Garden's Block Party, located at 200 S. Jackson Street, Lima, OH. This free event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with free food, food distribution, art bags, raffle prizes, and more.Â
