LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Santa's elves have been working hard with Mercy Health's Volunteer Crafting Club getting ready for their upcoming street fair.
These volunteers spend eight months out of the year creating holiday decorations to raise money for the hospital's auxiliary. There will be raffles, baked goods, and crafts, and you will be able to shop for wreaths, door hangers, table top decorations, and many other treasures.
"Lots of handmade things - we make them all, and if it's something that has been made elsewhere we repurpose it," said Deb Stauffer, craft coordinator. "We take it apart and put it back together in a different way. They're made in Lima."
Each year funds raised here are put with all their fundraising initiatives that are pledged for a certain project. Currently the auxiliary is in the middle of their $1 million pledge to the mom and baby unit. The street fair is Thursday, December 4th from 10 AM to 4 PM in the medical center lobby.
