LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WLIO) — A Miller City woman was taken to the hospital Saturday morning after a two-vehicle crash in Putnam County.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened at the intersection of Road E and Road 12 in Liberty Township. Deputies say a flatbed pickup truck pulling a trailer, driven by Hector Moreno of Gainesville, Florida, was traveling west on Road E when it hit an SUV driven by Nancy Niese, who was traveling south.
The impact sent Niese's SUV into a utility pole, causing it to roll over. Niese had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center. Moreno and his two passengers were not injured. Moreno was cited for failure to yield.
The intersection was closed until 6:30 p.m. while crews repaired the utility pole and restored power in the area.
