Minster Oktoberfest began racing towards the finish line with the Classic 10k race Sunday (October 2, 2016) morning.
Nearly 1500 runners participated in the race, which celebrates its 38th year in the running.  It served as the beginning of the end for Minster's Oktoberfest weekend. The race began at Minster High School and ended right in the middle of the festivities downtown, where crowds of people cheered them as they crossed the finish line.
All of the money made by the race goes right back into the community. Â "All the funds go first of all to the Oktoberfest committee to really help growth for Minster, and the second thing and the most important thing for the kids is it goes to the Minster Athletic Boosters and it really helps the kids from school age to high school do their best in sports," said Amy Kentner, race director for the Minster Oktoberfest Classic 10k.
Minster Oktoberfest ran from September 30th through October 2nd.
