Some special guests at Lima Mayor David Berger's media briefing Wednesday.
The special guests were some of the winners of the Lima Noon Optimist's coloring contest that was held during National Night Out earlier this month. Sixteen youngsters were recipients of a cash prize donated by the Optimist Club. Several received recognition at the briefing.
Noah Mears, one of the contest winners, explained to us it was a coloring contest and the winner received five dollars. Our reporter asked him what he colored and he said a picture of a police officer.
That police officer was actually Police Chief Kevin Martin out of the City of Lima's Safety First coloring book. Noah says he will be putting his $5 toward the purchase of a Nintendo Wii gaming unit that costs $103.
