ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima has been picked to be part of a new match funding opportunity.
Only 64 communities in the nation are getting technical assistance through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Fiscal Year 2022 “Thriving Communities Program." And because of that, projects sponsored by local non-profit organizations and residents could receive matching grant funding up to $10,000. City officials are eager to see what projects are submitted for the IOBY grants.
City Engineer Ian Kohli says, “We’re really interested in what ideas the community comes up with and what projects get pitched. That’s part of the excitement of the program to see what’s out there.”
IOBY stands for In Our Back Yard. There will be a webinar on June 28th at noon to get the instructions for the grant submission process and you can register by going to their website.
