LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - NexGen Research discussed the best strategies for reducing the cost of healthcare purchases at the Bradfield Community Center Tuesday.

The session was part of the center's "Lunch and Learn" series where people learn from different speakers over food.

Nneamaka Ezema, director of clinical operations for NexGen Research, discussed how to save more when making medical purchases and picking up medications, while attendees were treated to lunch.

Ezema said she felt the talk helped educate people on what decisions they should be making for their health.

"I thought that there was some kind of disconnect between what patients have time to hear in the doctor's office and what they're actually doing in their day-to-day lives in their homes, on their couch and with their families," Ezema said.

"We decided it was important to take more time to educate, take more time to inform. It just takes extra time and extra care to make sure that people are making the right decisions for themselves. It impacts their health, their children's health and their families' health."

The center hopes to continue the Lunch and Learn series to further educate its patrons.Â
