One Lima woman was recognized for her longtime service to the community by the Lima Noon Sertoma Club.
The club announced that Norene Parish was the winner for this year's Service to Mankind Award. Parish is active in the community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Allen County Council on Aging and the Lima Samaritan House, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees at West Ohio CAP, and volunteers to help those in need.
Winning the award is a great honor for Parish, who is more than willing to do what it takes to help out her hometown.
"I'm so happy to be able to continue to serve the people in our community, Lima is a great place to live and I meet so many wonderful people and I know so many people and it just keeps me going, and I guess it keeps the adrenaline flowing," Parish said.
The Service to Mankind Award is the highest honor that Sertoma can give to a non-member.
