September 16, 2024, Press Release from Nutrien: (LIMA, OH) – Nutrien’s Lima Nitrogen facility has been named one of Crain’s Cleveland Business’ 2024 Best Employers in Ohio. Ranking #12 in the large employer category, Nutrien was recognized for unique employee benefits including a charitable donation matching program that offers up to $5,000 per employee, per year; the opportunity to volunteer during work hours; as well as a program where employees can volunteer outside of work hours to earn reward dollars that they can donate to eligible charities or non-profits. In addition, Nutrien was recognized for providing charitable donations and scholarships for local students. Nutrien Lima also demonstrated a voluntary turnover rate of only 2 percent, and the site has made the best employers list 11 times since 2010.
Crain’s annual business recognition program is designed to identify and honor the best companies to work for in Ohio. In partnership with the Workforce Research Group, thousands of employees and their employers were surveyed on the working conditions, benefits and workplace culture that make a company a great place to work.
Winners were determined by the results of Workplace Research Group’s weighted surveys involving a two-step process. The first phase consisted of evaluating each company’s workplace policies, practices and demographics. This part of the process was worth 20 percent of the total evaluation. The second phase consisted of confidential employee surveys to assess their experiences and attitudes. This part was worth 80 percent of the total evaluation.
In commenting on the award, Maria Silveira, Senior Vice President of Nitrogen Operations at Nutrien said, "We are honored to be recognized as one of Crain’s Best Employers in Ohio in the large employer category. This is a testament to our continued commitment to our employees and fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment. Our unique employee benefits underscore our dedication not only to our team members but also to the communities in which we operate. We remain committed to sustaining an exceptional workplace culture."
“We’re very proud of every member of our Lima family,” said General Manager Todd Sutton. “Together we’ve built an environment where everyone is a valued member of a winning team supported by our culture of care.”
