Obstacle Course Improvements at the Auglaize County Fair

The Auglaize County Fair improved their obstacle courses this summer, so we sent our intern Heidi Paxson out to see if she was up to the challenge.

The competition is fierce at the Auglaize County Fair where people of all ages are competing on three different courses.

To kick off her adventure of finishing every Auglaize Fair obstacle course, Heidi tried to start with the youth course but they said she was too old. After being rejected, she started with the Sports Challenge that is aimed towards both kids and adults.

To be a pro in this course, you need to be able to aim, shoot, and jump.

Fair worker Ryan Rosenback explains that when it comes to the kids, this course might spark their career in sports.

"If they've never played a sport before today and they come out, they may peak an interest and then keep it going so it's very important," says Rosenback

Up next was the hardest course, the warrior challenge. To be a warrior you have to have what it takes. Climbing, jumping, hopping, and balancing are all required skills to finish.

"You're getting a lot of experience, it's really a good challenge as far as physical challenge. There's people that go through it that are really wore out when their done," says Jeff Limbert.

To finish off the day, Heidi competed against fair staff member Alec Brown in the Tricycle competition, who may or may not have let her win.

"I was nicer I will say than I would've been if it was someone else, but it was still a fun race," says Brown.

This challenge is different because it is the only one where you compete head to head with other people.

"When you're going against your friends you're going all out, everything you can, and then you're gonna show off a little bit. And like today we had people trying to show off a little too much," says Brown.

Each course is unique and different, but they all bring family and friends together for some competition and fun.

If you're up to the challenge head over to the Auglaize County Fair.Â
