In advance of the President making a trip to the Buckeye State, Ohio Democrats held several "We Stand With Ohio Workers" events in Lima and Canton on Wednesday.
Local and state officials spoke on the closing of the Lordstown General Motors plan, where about 1,500 people were laid off as GM shut the doors on five plants in the US and Canada earlier in March.
Ohio Democrats say that the President has not done enough to stand by Ohio workers, and that he needs to actually visit the site where jobs were cut.
"After Lima and after your fundraiser in Canton, go to Lordstown and help those workers and fight against GM," said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. "Don't fight for GM and against the workers, convince GM and fight with GM with that plant."
The last Chevy Cruise rolled off the GM assembly line in Lordstown earlier this on March 6th.
