Lima Police Department responded to shots fired this afternoon on W. North St.
They found one person was shot in the leg in the 500 block of W. North Street. Officials say the individual was transported and their injuries are non-life threatening. They tell us the victim allegedly ran into the business "Surge" and the employees called 911. The exact spot this shooting happened at isn't clear right now. Police were searching around the area behind the West Central Learning Academy and the surrounding areas for any clues.
"That is correct, we're getting different stories at this point," Sgt. Jason Garlock said. "Some are saying that it was in this back parking lot, so that's what we're trying to run down now. We're checking cameras and speaking to people right now."
Garlock added they've heard of a possible argument in that parking lot, but that is unconfirmed.
