Operation Love Lima food drive gives out over 55,000 lbs of food

The Converge Conference is in Lima, uniting teenagers from area churches with the common goal of spreading the word of God.

As a part of their weekend, the teens are going around Lima distributing over 55,000 lbs of food to the community in an act they're calling "Operation Love Lima". At Lima Apartments, they went door to door with boxes of non-perishables like canned goods and macaroni and cheese. The teens also asking the occupants if they could pray with them, keeping in line with the whole point of their weekend and sharing their faith.

"We just want to show God's love to everyone and just make them feel like they have hope in this world even though things may not be the best, they don't have the best circumstances right now," says Christina, 18. "I got the chance to meet a woman and her young child. They looked like they didn't have much but they both were just welcoming and they were very accepting of our prayers and just they were very open about their lives and what's going on."

Boxes were dropped off at 22 different locations around Lima including at Our Daily Bread and Cross Point Community Church.
