LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Students and staff dressed in their Halloween best got into the fall spirit.

Parents and students have fall fun at Freedom Elementary's Spooktacular Family Night

The school holds Family Night once a month to give parents a chance to get more involved in their child's education while allowing the kids to get to know staff outside the classroom.

Freedom Elementary School's Spooktacular Family Night on Thursday included educational activities and plenty of prizes. There were also games like a competition to see who could wrap someone else into the best mummy in a time limit. The school holds Family Night once a month to give parents a chance to get more involved in their child's education while allowing the kids to get to know staff outside the classroom.

"We want the families to know that we also have fun, and we want the kids to know that we can dress up and be involved. You saw that we were playing some of the games with the kids. We just want to have that fun interaction with the students as well. Not just in school, but also at an event with the families," said Angela Meyer, the school counselor.

There was also a pumpkin decorating contest where families could vote by making a donation to UNICEF.
