ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Care Access is looking for individuals to take part in a medical screening that could save lives.

People are being encouraged to participate in a medical screening

They are looking for those who are underserved in clinical trials to be screened for a specific type of cholesterol known as lipo-protein or L-protein little a. It can impact 1 in 5 people by increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke.

“We’re looking for those who are underrepresented in the clinical research world.” Says Adah Ellerbrock from Care Access, “And that is those who are Hispanic and African Americans. There’s not many that are in clinical trials right now. We would like to offer an opportunity for them to some out for an informational session to learn more about the screening we have available. And how hey can learn their numbers and how they can participate in clinical trials.”

The Bradfield Community will be hosting the free informational session on Wednesday June 26th from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. This is only an informational session, and no testing will be done. You will be able to schedule heart and kidney health h screenings at this time.
