The Lima Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man injured.

Police investigate a shooting on Catalpa Avenue

Just after 1:30 p.m. today(11/4/19) Lima Police were called to the 1200 block of Catalpa Avenue after a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 27-year-old Demontra L. Porter outside the residence with two gunshot wounds to his torso. Porter was taken to St. Rita's Mercy Health. His injuries are not believed to be serious. Press Release from Det Sgt Jason Garlock: At approximately 1:33pm, officers from the Lima Police Department responded to 1214 Catalpa Ave, Lima, Ohio reference to possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Demontra L Porter (27 years old of Lima) outside of the residence. Mr. Porter had sustained two gunshot wounds to his torso. Mr. Porter was transported to St Rita’s Mercy Health for treatment for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
