OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) – Health care, wellness and financial advisors were all on hand Friday morning to assist Putnam County seniors during the annual Senior Expo.
For more than 15 years, the expo has brought together approximately 50 agencies, organizations, nonprofits and private businesses—all focused on improving the lives of older adults.
Attendees enjoyed a free breakfast, live entertainment and the opportunity to safely dispose of expired medications.
The event is highly anticipated each year by local seniors, who see it as a one-stop shop for health and wellness resources.

“It’s something that's really important for the seniors in our community. Healthcare is ever changing year after year, and sometimes even more often than that, so keeping them in the know of what is available to them in our community is really, really important, because a lot of them don't know what's available until they're in the time of crisis or in the time of need,” said Janelle Herrera of the Putnam County Senior Expo.
In addition to the indoor vendors, Ohio Northern University's Mobile Health Clinic was on-site to provide testing services.
