OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) - Some state representatives and congressmen were in Putnam County this evening for a dinner hosted by Putnam County's Students for Life club.

Students for Life of America is a pro-life advocacy organization with clubs across the nation. Putnam County's club invited the lawmakers to share a little about what they have seen and what they would like to continue seeing from these students.

"The right-to-life here in Putnam County has always been very strong. In fact, on the Bellin initiative that was on Putnam County was the largest pro-life county percentage in the state of Ohio. But they also have a very active student for life here if you're talking about kids in high school. And one of the things I mentioned yesterday morning I was at a large right-to-life up in Lucas County, is that what we're seeing is so many younger people getting involved. And I know again this year, when I was at the Right to Life march in Washington, looking at it, there was tens of thousands of people, but the how many are now in junior high, high school, and college. So since I've been in Congress, it's great that everybody's still showing up, but we're seeing a lot, much larger group now on the younger side," said Rep. Bob Latta, Ohio’s 5th District congressman.

"Certainly, we are in perplexing and odd times, and we're a product of our surroundings. These young kids get it, and by teaching it and understanding it, they're going to clean up our messes that we created. So my hat's off to them for what they're doing," said Rep. Roy Klopfenstein, 82nd House District.
