LIMA (WLIO) -Â The end-of-year activities officially commenced at Rhode State College on Wednesday afternoon, beginning with a special ceremony for our future nurses within our community.
The RN Pinning Ceremony took place at the college, as 33 nursing students were celebrated in front of family and friends for completing the RN program. Each student made their way down the aisle to receive their pin, which marks a rite of passage for them as they move on and advance into the next stages of their nursing careers.
"It's a very rigorous program that prepares them to take care of patients once they graduate. Many of them, before they even graduate on Saturday, have jobs that they are going to. They look forward to passing the Boards exam and getting that RN behind their name, and many of them are continuing on with their education," spoke Tammy Segovia, RN Program Administrator.
The month of May is "Nurses Month," as these newly graduated nurses will look forward to being a part of "Nurses Week" for the first time next Monday.
