October 23, 2024, Press Release from the ARC for Lima: Lima, Ohio - Leslie Rigali, the founder of ARC for Lima, a local non-profit, will be recognized at the Ohio School Board Association Northwest Region Fall Conference with an award for community service.

ARC for Lima's mission is to provide for children in the Lima community. The organization supports local schools and agencies that work tirelessly to create better lives and opportunities for Lima's kids.

In 2023, recognizing the campus wear needs of Lima City School students, Rigali created Project Uniform Share, which collects, sorts, and washes gently used, donated uniform items and returns them to the schools for distribution to students in need. In 9 months, ARC has collected and purchased 1,500 uniform items and essential clothing for Lima City Schools.

Rigali is deeply honored by this recognition and hopes that this will draw attention to the importance of not only her project but also the importance of service to the Lima community.

About ARC of Lima:

ARC began in 2011 as ARC for Africa. Our original mission was the work in partnership with communities in the greater Kruger Park region of South Africa to improve the lives of area children. ARC built a school in South Africa that now serves 400 learners. ARC also funded a medical clinic at the school, uniforms, computers, and food programs for families.

When South Africa projects were completed, ARC turned its attention to the Lima community and is now doing business as ARC for Lima. Besides the Lima City School students, ARC has supported Family Promise with needed items and the annual FreshnFaded Back to School event.
