January 18, 2024 Press Release from Ruler Foods: CINCINNATI, Ohio, and LIMA, Ohio (January 18, 2024) – To end the 2023 calendar year, Ruler Foods, your trusted neighborhood grocery store for less, held various events and efforts to help eliminate food insecurity throughout their local communities. During the holiday season, the grocer donated over $10,000 to local food banks within their regional markets. This donation, a part of Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste program, aimed at ending hunger and eliminating food waste by 2025, also took place alongside the 2023 Holiday Food Drive at all Ruler Foods stores.
The Holiday Food Drive, which lasted from November 26 through December 23, saw a large amount of non-perishable food donations benefitting over 15 food banks.
The following food banks received donations from Ruler Foods, totaling $11,000 and 473,153 pounds of food to make a whopping 394,294 meals for local food banks to distribute, during 2023:

- Eastern Illinois Food Bank – Urbana, IL
- Feeding America Kentucky Heartland – Elizabethtown, KY
- Food Finders, Frankfort, IN
- Foodbank of NW Indiana, Merrillville, IN
- Freestore Food Bank, Cincinnati, OH
- God's Pantry Food Bank, Lexington, KY
- Hoosier Hills Food Bank, Bloomington, IN
- Second Harvest of East Central Indiana, Muncie, IN
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN, Nashville, TN
- SE Missouri Food Bank, Sikeston, MO
- St. Louis Area Food Bank – Bridgeton, MO
- Terre Haute Catholic Charities, Terre Haute, IN
- Tri State Food Bank – Evansville, IN
- West Ohio Food Bank- Lima, OH
