LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - A few hundred people got their pancake fix thanks to the Lima Noon Sertoma Club Saturday morning.
This is the longest running and largest pancake day in our area, and the annual breakfast has become an event for family and friends to work and serve or meet up and eat during the day.
This is the 68th year for their annual Pancake Day. Hungry people had their choice of blueberry or regular pancakes, sausage, and a drink to wash it all down. This is the longest running and largest pancake day in our area, and the annual breakfast has become an event for family and friends to work and serve or meet up and eat during the day.
“Support of our community, the support of our club—you see generations of families. From my grandpa who started this to my dad, to me, to my kids, and we are not the only ones. There are multiple generations. It is just fun to see kids and grandkids, aunts and uncles, and people who travel from out of town; this is an event for them. This is almost like a family gathering for a lot of people,” says Adam Rector, Lima Noon Sertoma Club.
The money raised from the Sertoma Pancake Day will be used for their various projects to help people and kids hear better, provide scholarships, and continue to make community improvements like at Faurot Park, where the club helped reconstruct the fishing area at the pond.
