SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - It's an Easter favorite that some Shawnee students are using in a way that doesn't include your sweet tooth.
Photography students are creating their Peep dioramas this week that will be judged by the entire school next week. It has become a tradition at Shawnee where the students design, create, photograph, edit, and submit the final project for voting. The students put a lot of time and effort into their Peep projects.
"My group decided to do a red carpet because we've never really seen it online before, and it's just kind of something everybody has seen. So we decided to use the peeps as actors so we can make all of their outfits," said Jorja Kloeppel, The Peep Gala.
"We decided to go with a Peepenheimer-Oppenheimer theme because it would be kind of simple for us to do but still have a really cool-looking picture to come out with, and it just looks really good," said Carter Cleaves, Peepenheimer.
"We are just like putting fabric on and like coloring them, and putting like different jewels and a whole bunch of stuff on them," said Ameilia Hasting, The Peep Gala.
"We just made it out of styrofoam. We used a lot of sand and food coloring to make the blood. We have our emperor and lots of banners my partner was able to make," said Harrison Giffin, Peepiators.
The winners will receive a Peep swag bag and, of course, bragging rights.
