A fire severely damages a home in rural Shawnee Township. Firefighters were called out to 5775 Spencerville Road just before 6 o'clock Sunday night. Shawnee township requested mutual aid from American Township, Lima, and Spencerville Fire Departments. The home sustained substantial fire damage to the east side, the area where the garage is located. Firefighters drew water from a nearby pond to help battle the fire. As of news time, the fire department hasn't released any details about a cause or if anyone was in the house at the time of the fire. An investigation is currently underway, and more details are expected to be released on Monday.
