COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — The final day of the state wrestling season wrapped up at the Schottenstein Center as several West Central Ohio wrestlers secured spots on the podium during the consolation rounds of the Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament.

In Division III at 106 pounds, Versailles junior Trent Huber earned a third-place finish after winning his match 20-3 by technical fall.

At 190 pounds, Lima Central Catholic’s Carter Lester captured bronze with a near fall that helped secure the victory. In the same weight class, Patrick Henry’s Trent Johnson picked up a takedown before winning by pinfall to finish fifth.

Over in Division II, Wapakoneta’s Keyno Mendez won by pinfall in the 165-pound bracket to earn a fifth-place finish. Teammate Wyatt Buell also finished fifth at 175 pounds after scoring key points in his placement match.

Kenton’s Isaac Blevins secured third place at 190 pounds, edging his opponent 6-5 with a late takedown.

At 215 pounds, Defiance senior Tyler Doeden-Kiessling earned a seventh-place finish after recording a takedown in his final match.

In the heavyweight division, Celina’s Cash Patrick scored a takedown during his consolation semifinal and ultimately finished third.

In the girls division, Liberty-Benton’s Evie Parmelee recorded an escape point in her final match and wrapped up her career with a sixth-place finish.
