Even though temperatures dipped close to zero, some sledders braved the cold in Faurot Park Monday afternoon.

With no school for kids around the area with MLK Day, a few of those students spent their day off with a sled in hand and climbed up the large hill in Faurot Park to speed down into the snow.

One young sledder says that the snow was perfect for sledding on today and that the extra cold temperatures didn't bug her at all.

"It’s much easier when the snow is very packed, it’s easier to just go down and it’s really fast when it’s packed like this - I don’t care I don’t care how cold it is, as long as I’m really warm and having fun," said Teagan Helmig.

Helmig says that she tries to get out and sled at Faurot Park whenever there's a lot of snow.
