LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – One of Lima’s best-kept secrets is welcoming diners for lunch again this school year. The Spartan Inn, located inside Lima Senior High School, offers students in the culinary arts program hands-on experience while serving the community.
The program teaches students both front- and back-of-house skills, including cooking, baking, and customer service, preparing them to enter the workforce straight out of high school. Many students pursue the course out of a love for cooking and with hopes of a future career in the restaurant industry.

Senior culinary student Skylin Shappell said, “Once I got into high school and was told about the culinary arts program, I knew kind of right away that it was like definitely where I wanted to be. So this is my third year in here, and I've loved every minute of it.”
The Spartan Inn offers buffet-style dining in-house or to-go for $9. The Inn is now open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The culinary program is one of 12 career tech programs available at Lima Senior High School.
