SPENCERVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) - A local woman is marking a milestone that few people will ever reach.
Bernice Dunn is turning 101, and her church decided to give her that special surprise party to celebrate. Bernice, born in February of 1925, had no idea the party was to take place. She says that she simply showed up to church. Some of her family traveled over 2 hours to see her. With a variety of age groups at her party to celebrate with her, Bernice shared stories, laughter, and the wisdom she's gained for over a century.
Many wonder what her secret to a long life is.
"I worked hard on the farm, and that kept me active. And then, it's been the Lord that's taken care of me. That's the main thing. And, He's blessed me so much, during the last week too," says Bernice Dunn
By giving her longevity success to the Lord, she adds that she's thankful for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.
