ST. MARYS, OH (WLIO) - After several delays and setbacks, the new St. Marys city building seems to have a new target date on when it expects to be open.

St. Marys Mayor Joe Hurlburt provides update on new city building

With a few months now passing, St. Marys Mayor Joe Hurlburt provided an update on when to expect the completion of the project.

Upon its groundbreaking ceremony held back in February of last year to prepare the community for future revitalization projects, the area was set to part ways with the old city building and welcome the new building sometime this past July. With a few months now passing, St. Marys Mayor Joe Hurlburt provided an update on when to expect the completion of the project.

"They moved the opening day back like three times. It was supposed to be in August, then September, and now we are possibly looking at November. Even though the windows on the third floor are in, they had to redo those, but they are all boarded up and insulate. So, if we wanted to go in, it can be operational in November," told Hurlburt.

Along with the new city building, the mayor says he's proud of the progress and business development occurring now and still on the way in the downtown area.
