HARROD, OH (WLIO) - The investigation continues into the barn fire at Ruth Farm in eastern Allen County.
According to state fire marshal investigators, the fire started in the breezeway that connected two barns. There was electrical and equipment that ran in the breezeway between the two barns, and fire investigators are trying to determine the exact cause that started the fire.
There were around 400,000 chickens that were in the barns at the time of the fire, and a good number of them were affected by the smoke and the heat according to officials from the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office. It is unknown an exact number. The three employees who were taken to the hospital have been treated and released.
