Lima City Schools taking time to honor those students who worked hard in and out of the classroom, but one student walked away with a little more than a congratulations.
Around 400 students were recognized Wednesday night at the honors banquet for making honor roll for the first three quarters of the school year, or being named the student of the month. Nine students were singled out for not only maintaining a 3.5 grade point average this year, but also not missing, being late, or getting in trouble at school. All nine had a chance to get their name drawn for a 2008 PT Cruiser donated by Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships. Junior, Jillian Oldham walked away with the keys to the car.
Lima City School auto tech students worked on the car to get it ready for the winner. This is the first year that the school district offered this incentive to the students.
