LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Area high school and adult education students explored various career paths at the UA Local 776 open house on Tuesday.
Students visited multiple stations to learn about careers in plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC service, and welding. In addition to gaining career knowledge, they received information about the UA Local 776 apprenticeship program. Local 776 representatives said the demand for skilled workers is high and hope the open house will help address that need.
"Our biggest need is definitely welding and HVAC service workers, right now. We have many calls that come in that are for welding and HVAC service workers, and that's why we're having an open house to promote that," says Kiel Dennison, Training Coordinator, UA Local 776.
